The machinery temporarily exported from Canada to the USA under an ATA Carnet [Merchandise Passport] is Exempt from Importation Duties and Tariffs. The rented equipment under the ATA Carnet must be returned to Canada within one year; it cannot be sold or re-exported outside of THE USA.
