Anti-Drift Turning Rolls, also known as Anti-Creep Rotators, Anti-Drift Rotators, Anti-Drift Welding Rolls, and Anti-Drift Rollerbeds, are designed to minimize longitudinal displacement [forward or backward] of the workpiece during rotation on welding rollers. This common phenomenon is often referred to as the "screw effect". Occurs due to several factors:
1. The workpiece rotates a substantial number of turns while welding a large thickness.
2. Irregular workpiece (out of roundness).
3. An unbalanced center of gravity.
4. Non-cylindrical geometries of the workpiece, such as a cone.
5. An uneven shop floor.
6. Misalignment of the roller beds.
7. A combination of these factors.
The Anti-Drift Turning Rolls ensure a longitudinal vessel accuracy displacement of ±3.0 mm. This level of precision is achieved through the use of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and a Sensor Automatic Anti-Drift Controller.
